Sorry to hear that it is like this...actually al the places where only the tunesian people sty don´t have the standart as we know it. Hope you find an appartment soon, which is better.
But I alwayy have problems with the toilets and the kitchen there.

May be you can try by searching more to the side to La Marsa , Cartage...this seemed to me to be a good place.

I´m sorry that I cannot help you but all the friends have finnished the work in Tunis and went to Sfax. They were working for GE in Tunis and now in Sfax.
