TUNISIAONLINENEWS- A magnificent Oussama Mellouli won the gold medal on Sunday in the 1500 freestyle race at the 2010 World Swimming Short Course Championship held on Sunday in Dubai

Mellouli put together a perfect swim covering the distance in 14’24″16, and setting the best time on the distance during this year.

Tunisia’s hopeful, Ahmed Mathlouthi, who took part in the same event, finished seventh, clocking 14’43″25.

By winning 3 gold medals, in Beijing, Rome and Dubai, the Tunisian swimmer confirms he is currently best swimmer in the world on the 1500 m distance.

He also won three gold medals at the FINA world championships in 2008 at 400 m medley, 200 m freestyle and 1500 freestyle.
